The lack of rain meant parts of the lake swim were more of a wade through mud. Absolutely nothing the organisers could do about it though. The bike route is superb. 14k laps on very quiet very fast country roads. Flying through the castle grounds with the spectators close by is a particular highlight. There is a crossroads on the bike route which might have caused issues, but the marshal there was spectacular. The run is a lovely route through the grounds with one hill. Then in the "village" one stall gives free food to all Gauntlet finishers...CHEESE ON TOAST. Wonderful event. Can we just have a week of rain beforehand next year please 🤣
