← AJ Bell Great North Run
Ive just completed my first Great North Run and 1 thing is for sure - i'm coming back for more.
Its a very very good half marathon.
Very busy at start, however your put in correct pens before you set off.
Its a very very busy run to be honest, however as long as you get in correct pen, everything is fine, ive heard if your at the back it can take 45mins to get to start line.....
The course is amazing, good sights, mainly running on duel carrageways - their is alot of slight inclines though which feels like you are forever climbing.
The 1 thing that stands out is the support. From start to finish the crowds are amazing, constant clapping, cheering, high 5s - it really gets you going.
Mile 12-13 is unreal. Crowds are 5-6 deep shouting you name, you can do nothing but sprint.
They say its be best race - I would be inclined to agree.
