← Race to the Stones

It's a race that's hard to describe, I think it's one that has to be experienced. It's the hardest race I've done to date, and going for 100km really does take a lot. The course was one I felt I barely noticed, but there's plenty of variation. Some of it's trail, some of it's gravel, some of it is a golf course, and some of it's road. In fact it's the road bits I remembered the most as those bits seemed to drag, especially when there was traffic. Sometimes people will be chatty and supportive, and at others they'll have their heads down and trying to push on. Whatever it takes to reach the finish.

I'm not trying to put people off this race... I think it's worth doing, and I'm glad I did it... but now I've ticked that off my list I'm thinking "never again". Maybe one it's had time to sink in I'll change my mind, but it was that tough I can't imagine that right now!

The people running the aid stations were amazing and were so helpful. Some of them seemed to be mind readers too and knew exactly what you wanted even when you couldn't find the words.
