I'd wanted to run this race for nearly a year and eventually booked it with six weeks to go.  The registration process was really simple and I even went back shortly before the registration closed to book my daughter into the fun run.

There was a bit of a queue into the field where the car park was but we didn't wait long and the marshals were very efficient at getting us parked up.

The race village had a good selection of things to do and there was lots going on.  Usually I worry that my family will get bored waiting for me but they seemed happy enough with everything offered.

The start was quite relaxed as we ran down the driveway and followed the marshals signals to get out onto the roads. I had never run around this part of Cheshire and there was a lot to see - it's very picturesque.  The course undulates a bit.  There is one hill which I wasn't expecting, and as I don't really train on hills it felt quite a triumph when I reached the top!

There were photographers out on the course too, all photos were free to download once they appeared online in the following week.

The course was a loop of the area with the very impressive Lovell telescope at Jodrell Bank marking the halfway point.  There was also plenty of local support from residents as well as marshals too.

I really enjoyed running this and even gained a PB. I was overjoyed when waiting in line for my medal to discover this via very speedy text!

The medal at the end was also amazing and very big! While there were queues for the goody bag items at the end, I didn't mind this although would have preferred them to be set up away from the finish line - I nearly ran into the back of the queue as I crosed over the timing mats!

All in all I'd recommend this race if you are after an interesting route. I can't wait to run it again myself!
