I've ran this race for the past 3 years. It's local and the medal is always great! Course is nice - a few ups and downs but nice views of the Cheshire countryside. Water at 5km. Closed roads and little goodie bag. Parking is easy on the field next to Colshaw Hall. Good value and always a popular event!

Colshaw Hall Estate is a stunning background for a race event.

It was a fantastic event and it was nice and a sunny day to.

The Marshall's and the event organisers were very supportive and the event was well organised.

There was water station at the 5k mark.

And the locals people were very supportive as well.

The medal and goody bag at the end of the run was fantastic to.

I would highly recommend this race event to fellow runners.

Let me get the negative part out of the way first, my daughter is horse mad, so I signed up.for the 10K and she signed up for the fun run. She was really disappointed that her medal didn't feature a horse on it, (she wanted to run it because pictures of horses were all over the informtion given out and last years 10K medal) it was just a generic medal, I contacted them afterwards and said they would see if they could sort something but I am still waiting.

Anyway, the main event, it was really well organised, the marshals were all friendly and supportive. There wasn't much support around the course, which is understandable with it being a rural course, but the views made up for it which included views of Jodrell Bank. The course has a few hills so I didn't attempt to get a P.B. here.

The goody bad was really good, with a fantastic medal, there was free parking in the field next to the hall and a small race village.

Super little event, run from the Colshaw Hall estate in Cheshire.  Mostly on closed country lanes, although there was to odd car that slipped through, despite the best efforts of the marshals.  An undulating course with a single water station at 5km.  Decent crowds around the start and finish area, but a little sparse outside that - but this is not unexpected givent he rural setting.  Nice medal and goodie bag at the end and good value for money.  Definitely worth doing.

1. What a great race. Super easy to get my race number on the day. Great local foodie stalls for a pre race coffee and local running shop.  In typical pre race fashion I spent a while in the facilities lovely soft loo roll again always a plus. The 50min pace maker was awesome. He kept his eye out for me and got me over the line under sub 50min bloke is a legend. I will be entering this race again and will take my family with me as my elder will do the fun run. Course was great slightly undulating. Brilliant morning out. Great spiny medal too. 
   

This race is 10 mins from where I live so I'll probably always run it - especially when the medals are so fantastic!

Well organised, parking free on the field next to Colshaw Hall. Lovely setting, course is very pretty, hill around 1 mile and 4 miles but nice views of Jodrell Bank at 5k.

Nice finish down the driveway to Colshaw Hall and did I mention the medal?!

£21 (£19 club runners) to enter but I sign up each year when entries open so get £5 off - absolute bargain at £16!

Never run this one before but decided to last minute on a whim. Will be a firm favourite now! Easy to navigate, even if this is not part of your usual run route like it is for me, and great festival feel at the start/finish area. Lovely medal and very tasty flapjack in the goody bag. Brilliant value for money.

I did this race last year and loved it. Loved that you got a great view of Jodrell Bank in all her glory and the medal as well. Parking is in a field next to the hall. No problems whatsoever, plenty of space. Great goody bag and the medal was ace again. Local support was limited as we were in the middle of the countryside but nice when people clapped you. Lovely Venue, great organisation and free photos as well. Oh and the wood fired oven pizza after the run was ace if a little expensive £10!

Arriving for my first time at this event I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly taken by the feel of the pre-race setup which was super well organised and friendly. There were ample toilet facilities for the inevitable last minute visit (!) and a nice mini-village with a local running shop stall, a coffee stall, wod-fired pizzas on sale, pre and post-race massage etc. Runners mingled happily, friends spotted one another and all was good.

Despite living nearby and passing many times I've never been to Colshaw Hall and was immediately struck by how stunning it looked on a warm summer's day - the tree-lined drive is a cracking place for a start/finish and lent a real sense of occasion. As the (tirelessly enthusiastic) MC made introductions a ripple of applause spread through the waiting runners and I was struck by just how many people were in attendance at what is clearly a popular event with the North West's running clubs.

The course is undulating in places and has one or two steep sections. Jodrell Bank is often in view as you pound around the closed roads, which meant no worrying over traffic. Marshals were numerous and uniformly encouraging and smiley and several local families were cheering us on outside their properties.

For a newbie runner, entering the finishing straight lined with people applauding, phones recording and the microphone man mentioning my name was really memorable. This is a fantastic event which has a great balance between popularity and local warmth, and I can't wait to come and do it again next year :)
