First time at The Gauntlet, loved it. The lake was very picturesque, although because it isn't very deep the water was churned up in the first 200m. Easy swim though. Apparently this was a new bike route, well please keep it, very quiet fast country lanes. I didn't see a car until half way round my second lap. When the other races got going it was very difficult to keep the required draft distance but still a lovely fast route. The run route was great. Lanes around the castle grounds. I think you put on extra aid stations too. Which was gratefully received. My only gripe is actually at my fellow athletes.. please stop dropping gels and packages. You're racing in one of the most beautiful places in the UK, we want to keep it that way. If you can't put it in a bin or your pocket, you shouldn't be carrying it.
