A really great run which showcases the best Sheffield has to offer.

Run virtually all on trails on the beautiful hills of Sheffield, with running sections interspersed by walking 'recovery' sections (only the running sections count towards your race time).

A great friendly atmosphere, lovely medal and very helpful marshalls.

The multi stage format makes it manageable for runners stepping up in distance (though it is very hilly), and the wide range of start times (from 8.35 to 10.15 for non elite runners), means that slower runs who set off early aren't at the back of the field throughout (which for a slow runner like me is a nice change).

My only criticisms are that it only has two water stations which are quite far apart when it really could do with three, and for the price, or a few £ more I would expect a technical T shirt included (where as cotton shirts are not included in the price but can be bought for an extra £10).

It is one of my favourite races of the year.
