← MK Marathon Weekend

This was my second time doing MK marathon. I did it 2 years ago and I did the half marathon last year. I had to collect my number on the morning of the race, this took a lot longer than I expected. I was queuing for around an hour.

One of the reasons why I decided to do this marathon again is because it is a good course and the crowd support are really brilliant, calling your name out all the time and giving you a lot of encouragment. This course is a very challenging course! It is far from flat, it has a lot of inclines and hills in places. The crowd support around the city centre is really good, the course goes through some pretty villages and along the lovely canal but there are some lonely parts where the support isn't so good.

This was my 3rd marathon in 5 weeks this year and I did find this course really tough, I actually found it the hardest out the three. I was experiencing some bad pains around 18 miles and I remember getting to 16 miles and I was feeling tired and I thought gosh am I going to go on for another 10 miles! Overall I did still get a good time, I would have liked to have got a PB, I didn't manage that but when there are so many inclines I think it is quite difficult to acheive a PB.
