← Unleashed Performance Reading Half Marathon

Won a place in this race through Vitality. It was quite the drive from the North West, but decided to give it a go!

I found the city centre shuttles and other race transport to be great, and easily accessible. The race village was a bit spartan and the merch tent wasn't great but that's not what races are about.

The race was well organised with adequate starting pens. Water was frequently available and sports drink was available at two points. The course meanders towards the town centre and has only one sharp climb on the way in. City centre was enjoyable between miles 6-8 with great support. Heading back towards the stadium was a bit barren and there was one horrible hill around mile 10 that really took it out of me.

All in all it was a great race and if you're local I'd recommend it. Not sure if it was worth the 5hour drive though, but hey, free entry!
