Having recently got back into running ( many years of cycling and triathlons diverted my attention), it was great to revisit Reading 1/2 marathon. I last did it in 2008 and the organisation has stepped up massively. The price for a late booker (£72 - including parking) was steep but that was my choice. I enjoyed the event a lot, the start ramped up the adrenaline and the support along the way was amazing. It really felt like a big event. Signed up for 2027 and the early bird is a lot better value at £35 (didn't opt for parking though).

I’ve run this race every year for the past ten years and I love it , my only gripe is the price, it’s becoming more and more expensive . £17 to park the car is shocking ! That’s kind of put me off a bit which is a real shame as I love to run Reading .

The organisation and pre-race information was great and there is always a lot of support on most of the route, which is great. I particularly love the steel band under the underpass and the Rock Choir in the University. What was disappointing was the lack of a goody bag. I opted for the medal and T-shirt and I got those OK but I'd walked from Green Park station and didn't bring a drop-bag as I'd assumed as in previous years that I'd get a bag when I finished so it was a struggle to carry the water, T-shirt and protein bar I was given. It was raining by then as well. Also no foil blanket given away. I noted that the info supplied pre-race talked about 43 "golden tickets" for lucky finishers. Where were these put if no bags? Or did they run out of bags and earlier finishers got them (this has happened to me before as I'm quite slow) if so this should not happen as surely they know the number of entrants.

£53 entry and you end up with a medal (nice to be fair), one bottle of water and some cheap cereal bar........disgraceful. The Great South Run is cheaper and you get a t shirt and good bag. No wonder they only had 6300 turn up.

I live in Reading so this an easy option for me . I’ve run this race every year for the past nine years , it’s so good , great atmosphere I just keep coming back . I’ve already booked for 2025 and have chosen to opt out of the T-shirt as I don’t really wear them after . Having read through some of the reviews I saw somebody say that they opted for medal only and that is literally all they got . Please give the snacks aswell as the medal , these personally for me are so important, I’m not sure I’d make it out of the race village with out these snacks . Looking forward to 2025

Absolutely love the Reading Half Marathon having completed it a number of times. The crowd support is amazing and the busses and logistics are very well organised. The only criticism I have this year is the lack of food for those who chose the medal only option. I do not need a t shirt and think it's great to have a no t-shirt option, however I do expect some form of post race snack especially after a half marathon. A banana is all it took but it was just water and nothing else. Hopefully you will review this for next year.

I’ve done this event multiple times and still hate Hartland “Heartbreak Hill” Road and love the beer at Russell Street. The stadium finish is also a great touch.

first timer at reading half marathon, A well organised polished event. Not the flat course i erroneously pictured in my head, (my bad, it's not billed as flat) but a couple of risers to get the HR up. I few twisty parts as you approach reading town. Easy to get free run space without clipping other runners ankles. PB potential? i'm not sure. Worth doing? definitely!

Love running my home town event as always so well supported by the local community who were out in their thousands once again. Very well organised as ever. I assume / hope the water pouches are fully recyclable; if so I applaud them. From a consumption / users perspective I struggled initially to understand what to do. This got better as I went round the course (from trial and error perspective). Perhaps a simple video 'how to drink from one of our water pouches' would be a great addition to your pre-race information in the lead up to next year's event?

It was my second time and I loved every moment. The support from the crowd, the atmosphere was great. The thing I would complain about is the water, so tricky and so much waste ... Hope I can come back again !
