Blenheim triathlon is held in the most stunning setting of the Palace grounds. To have a carpet lined transition area in the palace courtyard is something very special to experience. The lake you swim in is stunning and has an easily navigated swim route with marshals helping you out safely on exit. Then comes the hardest part, the barefoot run (although on matting) up to the transition area to get your bike. This is a hard uphill run and a reasonable distance but it is worth it to turn the corner and see the courtyard. From then it is off out down the hill and onto the stunning undulating bike course. The run course is also so picturesque and has great support through it. The marshalls always do a great job at this event and it is great watching some of the weekend warriors competing over and over again. It isn't the cheapest Tri but to be able to race in Blenheim Palace grounds it is a must do race. Oh and you get a great medal too, what's not to like!
