In a year that threw everything at event organisers this was a very welcome event. The orgainsers kept us up to date and were very honest with the situation through out the run up to the event. On the event day it's self everything was clear, safely run and friendly. The distance had to be changed due to issues beyond the organisers control but the new set up for the start and logistic challenges that were presented seemed to have been managed well. I thoroughly enjoyed the swim, the water quality is good, the scenery nice to look at. All of the staff, volunteers and safety crew were helpful and friendly as were the other swimmers. I was worried about being out of my depth in terms of others far out pacing me, but everyone swam with courtesy - there was plenty of room for everyone. A great mix of those who were obviously out to race and those (me!) who wanted to take the challenge of the distance as their own pace. Rest stops were well catered and well supported.

Over all, I'm going back in 2022 to get the full distance experience.
