An exceptionally well-organised event π. The challenge was quite daunting, and I was nervous π, but as we waited in line to get started, I realised most other swimmers felt the same. The first leg from Hambleden to Hurley is one of the most beautiful stretches of the Thames. The river never felt crowded, which is one thing I had worried about. Even the ducks π¦ seemed not to notice us as we swam by. The locks bought welcome relief from swimming - a chance to take on food and drink. I was so delighted to get to the finish, an army of people welcoming the swimmers home. I cannot think of anything negative to say. Some advice - keep hydrated and eat when you can. It takes a lot of energy!
