I watched my son do this event in 2019 and was fired up to train for it myself. Fantastic atmosphere on the day but also great pre-race information (by email) and tweets. The Marathon is the pinnacle event of the season and it was a shame they had to cut it back to 10K, but this change was all conveyed clearly and diplomatically and the event was great fun if a bit shorter than we'd have liked. Safety was paramount, and the food/drink at each station was excellent - enough but not too much choice (all we need is "jelly babies or crackers?" "water or electolytes?", not a Fortnum and Masons hamper). I did a personal best for 10K so either the course was short or the current was strong!
