This was a super event! My only cause for comment is on the swim. On the day, it was 13 degrees. The sprint swim was shortened to 400m which was good. However, there was no time to acclimatise which was actually quite dangerous. We had to enter the water at times intervals and just go for it. I wasn't experienced enough to realise that I should have entered the water, moved to one side to acclimatise, then headed off. We just had to step or jump in, hit the cold water and go. It was so cold it took my breath away and cold water shock was a real risk. I spoke to several swimmers who were badly affected by the way that the entrance to the swim was organised.
