So, not an experienced “racer” and slightly biased as I’m now lucky enough to call Cambridge my home town, but I highly

recommend this half marathon which takes you through one of England’s most historic cities and some of the famous college grounds that you don’t normally get to see.
Organisation overall was great but we were hanging around in pens a bit too long before starting and I’m not convinced that was necessary. Plenty of water stations and efforts being made to switch from bottled water seemed to work well. It’s a stunning route but if you have never visited Cambridge be aware that you run through some old narrow streets where the ground is a bit “bumpy” in places. But that’s part of the charm of this half. I’ve run only two other half’s, both known for the amazing crowd support, so I was prepared for a quiter crowd, but was blown away by how much support there was even for the slower runners like me all through the day. Some great and free photos as well!
