The Mapledurham 10 has become one of the highlight races of the year. It is well organised, friendly and most importantly set in beautiful surroundings. That said, it is a very challenging course that varies year-on-year depending on the prevailing weather conditions. If it's been dry, cold and frosty, it can be quite fast (apart from some very challenging hills). This year, following weeks of heavy rain, it was a mud bath! But no-one (including me) was complaining, it was still a fantastic event which you felt a huge sense of accomplishment in finishing.

One small gripe was the positioning of the first water station, it was right by a gate, therefore easy to miss and hard to stop at. But that's a minor issue when considering the overall brilliant race.

Thanks to the organisers, the marshalls and my fellow runners for making it so good.
