Lush. From start to finish.
What a cracking race.
Easy to sign up online and plenty of information beforehand via social media on the upcoming race.
Parking was easy, lots of marshalls directing you in.
Bib pick up was simple with a nice ankle tag chip system which was a soft foam band with Velcro so didn’t rub while running.
Plenty of toilets so no queuing and a cafe on site for a pre race coffee & warm up.
The race is just stunning. Pembrey country park is a gorgeous venue so I knew it would be a great run.
First two miles are on road then you turn onto the trails, lots of lovely winding trails, a few tasty hills to get your teeth into but nothing that isn’t runnable.
Loads of super cheery marshalls out on the course cheering you on and plenty of markers so you couldn’t get lost.
Water stations at 3 and 6 miles with an allotted bottle drop to keep the rubbish to a minimum and allow the marshalls to clean up quickly and efficiently.
Then onto the beach at around 7 miles for a lovley long stretch along the sand. Just stunning and finally a run up the sand dunes and onto a leg zapping undulating run up and down the trails. As soon as you hit mile 9 it’s a lovley long stretch of flat trail to the finish.
Crossing the finish line to plenty of cheers, we were given a lovley wooden medal, banana, water, SRR Buff and the winner for me, a welsh cake (I did have two!)
This race so was so well organised from start to finish. I can’t find any fault on any part of the race. Well done SRR I’ll certainly be back.
