Lush. From start to finish.
What a cracking race.
Easy to sign up online and plenty of information beforehand via social media on the upcoming race.
Parking was easy, lots of marshalls directing you in.
Bib pick up was simple with a nice ankle tag chip system which was a soft foam band with Velcro so didn’t rub while running.
Plenty of toilets so no queuing and a cafe on site for a pre race coffee & warm up.
The race is just stunning. Pembrey country park is a gorgeous venue so I knew it would be a great run.
First two miles are on road then you turn onto the trails, lots of lovely winding trails, a few tasty hills to get your teeth into but nothing that isn’t runnable.
Loads of super cheery marshalls out on the course cheering you on and plenty of markers so you couldn’t get lost.
Water stations at 3 and 6 miles with an allotted bottle drop to keep the rubbish to a minimum and allow the marshalls to clean up quickly and efficiently.
Then onto the beach at around 7 miles for a lovley long stretch along the sand. Just stunning and finally a run up the sand dunes and onto a leg zapping undulating run up and down the trails. As soon as you hit mile 9 it’s a lovley long stretch of flat trail to the finish.
Crossing the finish line to plenty of cheers, we were given a lovley wooden medal, banana, water, SRR Buff and the winner for me, a welsh cake (I did have two!)
This race so was so well organised from start to finish. I can’t find any fault on any part of the race. Well done SRR I’ll certainly be back.

Fantastic location, starts on road then trail through forest and onto beach for long stretch and some dune running before grass finish. Very friendly and well marshalled race. Incredible scenery and brilliant value. Thanks for a great event - Diolch yn fawr!

  1. The Sospan MT10 is a fantastic trail 10 miler with 10% roughly of road at the start. It’s organised by the superb Sospan Road Runners. It’s set in the stunning pembrey country park . It’s a fantastic race well signed and superbly marshalled from start to finish. The aid stations are water only there are 2 stations. The course is tough technical in places through stunning woods then onto the wonderful pembrey sands for a mile and half. Back to some technical sandsune called the ups and downs by us locals👍. Then a great mile finish. It’s my fave trail race superb value for money and fantastically organise . You won’t be disappointed £22 a buff, medal, welsh cake water and banana at the end to cap off a great event 👍👌😀🏃‍♂️🙏

My first MT10. Brilliant race. Really well organised. Course was stunning (beach part was my favourite). Support was amazing. When I saw people in the middle of the forest (and they were not race marshals!) cheering us all it really pushed me forward. Welsh cakes at the end were lovely. I had a small injury when I fell down (purely my fault) and had my knee covered in blood; straight after finish, marshals directed me to the paramedics and they looked after me very promptly. Thank you very much SRR for such a good experience. I will be definitely back in 2020

One of the best parks in the country, beautiful scenery and a lovely course. I would describe the course as tough and technical with a tough rating of 6/10 And a technical rating of 6/10. 2018 was my 4th year doing the event and I will be there again next year.

DIdnt  take much persuasion from my Welsh friends and so glad I went over to run this one

very well organised, good facilities and snack options - easy reg process

course is very mixed with elements of the main park then into the woods. Soft underfoot which was very welcome as I was recovering from stress fractures!!

the route is fantastic- great variety with a few hills but nothing extreme- then a section along the beach (watching our for the many massive jelly fish) and into the dunes (toughest bit) before a nice flat last mile

The Marshals were incredible - cheered everyone the whole way around- they were superb

fab medal too !

i absolutely loved this race and it’s one of the very few that I will be happy to do every year
