As people may guess, this Marathon is very scenic and very hilly but I also really enjoyed the run.

Number collection is on the Saturday before race day, at the finish line which was very well organised.

The day starts off getting onto one of the never ending stream of buses, these then take you up to the start line, up in the highlands. This is the coldest part, waiting for the start with people sheltering next to the coaches to try and keep warm, the only downside I came across was the toilets, there didnt appear to be enough with people having to use the christmas trees dispite the numerous announcements asking people not to.

Once underway, as you go over the start line you pass through bagpipers which thought was a really nice touch. The run starts downhill, thought the highlands going towards Loch Ness, the course, as mentioned earlier is hilly with people stopping to take pictures of the views, enjoying the run rather than going for a PB. Once at Loch Ness the course continues along it going towards Inverness, a short section through the centre and finishing in the Park. Where you collect your medal and goody bag, and also a free hot soup and drink.

I would highly recommend this run, yes it is tough but very rewarding.
