I haven't actually participated in the event. I have booked it for this year, I have tried to contact them regarding some questions and I have been completely ignored.

This race was out of this world. From the get go, taking the buses up the side of the hill was and absolutely epic way to arrive at the start line. The DJ was fantastic at getting us all hyped up and settling the nerves. Unfortunately I didn't make it to a portaloo because the queues were just too long, but if a bear can pee in the woods so can I, even with 10000 other runners about. The views throughout, the support we got everything was just amazing. I know some people have issues with the distance between crowds but to me that just makes it more special when you hit an area with a crowd, at that point you feel like there's nothing left in your tank then all of a sudden you get a power up. The aid stations where just the perfect amount to the point I think if I did the race again I wouldn't take any water with me, and save the extra weight. The only thing I would like to mention that could have been better is the sizing of the t-shirts, I got a small but it looks like a large man's. Other than that 5 stars would recommend ☺️.

Hello! I am thrilled to have been able to run the Loch Ness Marathon! I mainly run city marathons, and this one was a pleasant change. The start was in the highlands, bagpipers, and one Loch Ness monster even overtook me.. :-) Thank you!

Course was beautiful from start to finish (helped by perfect weather). Crowd support great once in Inverness. Loved having friends and family be able to shout out to me at the end and meet me at the finish line.

What a fantastic event. So well organised in spite of the logistical difficulties of transporting all the marathon runners from Inverness to the starting position at a remote site near the far end of the Loch. My niece and I loved every moment from the bagpipes at the start to the soup and entertainment at the finish. Unbelievably we both achieved times we never considered possible and I'm sure it was because of the energy this run creates, moving through such stunning scenery in a place we hold very dear in our hearts. We also were thrilled to discover Baxters soups! Who knew they had such special flavours. We quickly consumed the tins in our goody bags to aid our recovery!

Why can’t we have t-shirts that are shaped for women and come in smaller sizes? I got a small but it’s massive as they are sized for men and the shape is very unflattering 😞.

Fantastic event but agree with others that the start needs work. There is so much congestion and the lines were 45 minutes for a toilet. We were boxed in from the start for 20 miles. Great Scottish run in Glasgow this weekend had 30k and they really stagger the start which is completely possible for Loch Ness since all the participants are bussed to the start. Also, need more medical from mile 18. There was a runner who was very delusional shouting and swerving and it was 2 miles before I found help for him. Education too for participants that if someone seems in trouble, don't ignore. Overall this event is absolutely fantastic and have already told many to run it next year.

I have been looking forward to the Loch Ness Marathon since I entered around Christmas time The event was really well organised, I enjoyed visiting the Expo the day before to pick up my number and enjoy the Nessie statue On the day the start of the race was amazing, I felt so emotional crossing the start line to the traditional Scottish music with the highland scenery in front of me Unfortunately when I got to 19k my stomach bag leaked everywhere and I was so disappointed, I got all sorted out at the side of the race but at this point mentally I was struggling. The volunteers were absolutely amazing, their encouragement kept me going and the amazing scenery of the event made every step worth it! I’m so proud I finished so thank you for making an awful situation turn into such a positive Unfortunately because I took my time to get to the finish the only t-shirts available were L/XL and I did order a medium so that was a little disappointing.
