← Yorkshire Marathon

This was my 4th Yorkshire Marathon (I missed 2017 through injury). It's a race which I will always do.
As well as the marathon, there was corporate relay & 10mile race so it suited all abilities.
What you get for your entry fee is a really well organised event, lots of extras and a great atmosphere.
Entry was easy enough. There were lots of pre-race emails, and a Yorkshire marathon app which allowed you to track friends and family.
The race was based at York University. The bus taking competitors from York train station to the race HQ was very helpful. The race village had lots of stalls ect.
Baggage deposit/collection was quick & easy.
The race itself started with a minute's applause for 2 local running legends who had passed away. What a wonderful gesture by organisers.
Route went through York city centre, through the local countryside and back to the finish at York Uni.  It had lots of fast sections but also a few sneaky hills thrown in.
Overall it is a fast course. Aid stations were regular and well stocked. Local support was brilliant, especially on such a wet, chilly day.
Marshals & volunteers were awesome.
Finishers received a top quality medal, super finishers shirt & a decent goodie bag.
There was also FREE medal engraving and massage.
When you break it down, it's fantastic value which puts other northern marathons to shame.
Thank you so much to organisers, volunteers & the York public for a brilliant day.
See you in 2020.
