Issue with timing chip; my official time was more than an hour slower than my final race time. My chip was coded to another person, as all route checkpoints (10, 20, 30, and 40k) were recorded, but much slower than my time! I have never experienced anything like that. There are lots of posts with similar problems on social media. What a mess and disappointment. Run For All is not taking any responsibility. There were not enough toilets at the start. Chaos at the water stations, not enough bins; there were lots of empty bottles on the route. In general, poor logistics. It looks like this event is going downhill, which is a shame as it has a huge potential!

My timing chip failed to work so I have not officially ran the Yorkshire Marathon. HS Sports have yet to provide an unofficial race time nor apologise. My instance does not appear to be isolated. Aside from this, my marathon experience was positive but, for the timing chip failure and HS Sports poor handling, I would not run it again nor recommend to others. NB I have been forced to rate positive aspects of the race poorly in order to have a one star rating. This is not something I wanted to do but had no other valid options.

First marathon experience. Generally positive. Chaos at the end but this was partly due to the rain - really unclear where to go. Friends had difficulty with the park and ride though we didn't use it. Seemed very expensive at £8pp. Actual race and route good, please space out the bins more next time! Electrolyte tablets in water were promised but not seen anywhere. Friends needs medical attention and found that superb.

For these reasons I won't do this race again, but the volunteers were lovely and the route was nice for a road race.

First marathon and first time at the event. The logistics of this event were poor to say the least. Arrived at the village with no real direction to the start line. Didn’t group people by expected finish time/pacing well enough. First 5km was just spent getting past people that blatantly shouldn’t have been near the start. The final cherry on top of the park and ride. Signage in the village poor, just people shouting. 0 organisation to get people out of the car park after, had people sat there hours. Only 2 members of staff I saw were at the exit basically waving us out. I told them it was chaos back there to which I got a shrug of the shoulders and “there’s 4000 cars”. If you know the quantity of cars to get out, there should probably be a plan in place. The race itself was fine, good fuelling stations, water and toilets. As you would expect.

NEVER AGAIN. The logistics are shockingly poor in the park and run at Elvington airfield where I am currently sitting in traffic and have been for an hour trying to get out. There is no obvious organisation at all and the temporary traffic lights on the road create a huge bottleneck. We tried to drive a different way but a member of staff (old man with a beard) stopped us and became argumentative . This is amateur beyond belief and has totally spoiled what had been a good day. NEVER EVER use the park and run unless you want to sit in traffic for hours. I used the park and run in 2024 and there was not a problem.

This was my 1st Yorkshire Marathon and overall I really enjoyed the day despite the weather which pretty much from start to finish (typical Yorkshire weather eh?) Was amazing to see as many people out in support despite the rain! Supporting staff were brilliant across the full route and the aid stations were sufficiently stocked and staff efficiently handing out with a smile at each one. Same at the finish with handing out the bags and medals, staff were brilliant and supportive. There were a few things which I think could have been improved to make for a better experience. The toilets near the start line were not enough for the amount of people there, many looked to be locked and within the final 30 minutes before the start the queues were really long which lead to a few people starting to queue jump and causing a bit of annoyance as a result I wasn't able to go as I had to get to the pen and ready for the race and had to use a toilet later in the marathon! The start before the race was a bit chaotic, when walking into the pens for predicted race time it would've been ideal if there was a marshall to move people forward. Some people just entered the pen and stopped dead right by the entrance so it was a bit stressful to have to nagivate through and as a result I missed the warmup trying to find a space to get warmed up within the right pen for predicted time so didn't feel best prepared for the distance as a result. Overall had a great time and will definitely be looking to complete again next year. Hopefully the points raised above are in place for the next year.

My first marathon, overall a really good experience (despite the weather). Only a few issues, one was that there needed to be at least double the number of toilets, both in the event village and on the course. I had to wait ages to go at the start, then felt rushed because 20 people were waiting for me. All the toilets on the course also had queues, luckily I didn't need to go, otherwise I would have definitely missed my target time. It was also a bit annoying that a lot of the water bottles given out on course had the caps still on, they were tricky to take off while running and tired!
