Firsly, the race location was absolutely stunning. This was my first outdoor competitive swim and I was really excited.
I had a slight panic at the start as the water was so muddy I couldn't get my breath or bearings. Once I got going it was was lovely until the earlier races started crossing over and there was some stress and confusion. The exit from the water was difficult and greatly effected peoples times as you had to wait for people to be helped out one by one.
Immediately after I wanted to do it again and book for next year, unfortunately I become very ill and was off of work for 4 days unable to get out of bed. I have seen a lot of people have also been poorly which is such a shame.
