The organisation around this event is second to none and it has the best event village that I’ve experienced, all located in the grounds of Priory Park.

The half marathon course is completely on closed roads and takes in some of the lovely Surrey countryside. Despite it being a fairly rural route, the locals always come out to support the runners, which is great to see. This year there was a great addition of bands playing along various parts of the route, which really liven things up. This isn’t a flat course. There is a small hill at the start that you don’t really notice on fresh legs but a steeper hill towards the end which you need to save some energy to conquer. The encouragement from the Go Fitness team and volunteers was a big help on the way up the hill.

A nicely designed medal, great tech t-shirt, buff and other goodies was a great reward for finishing the race. But Run Reigate isn’t just about the race, the event village has so much to do and keep the entire family entertained for the rest of the day and it was great to catchup with everyone afterwards.

I feel so lucky to have the best half marathon in the country as my local one and can’t wait to take part again next year 😊
