First time running the Reigate Half. Beautiful course through the countryside, but a relatively challenging one. There's obviously the infamous hill just before the end (which is indeed murder), but you also start off going uphill, there's a significant hill at the half way point and everything in between undulates a fair bit. Of course being a loop every up is matched with a down, and I still ran a PB, but my legs are letting me know about it the day after! I maybe wouldn't recommend this as a first Half as it was tough in places. Public support in the town and along the route was great, the marshalling and general organisation on the day was good, but I knocked a couple of marks off for the back end logistics. No option to have the bib posted in advance, and I travelled too far to pick it up from the shop in Reigate. To be fair the pickup on the day went smoothly, but I was worried about it and came extra early to be on the safe side. I would much rather have been able to turn up race ready. More seriously, the results were a bit of a mess on the day. No notification at all of my time, and when I followed the instructions to get the results from their website there was nothing there. I ended up queuing to get my official time in a tent, which was different! The results eventually came up a few hours later, but even then it seemed to only be showing the gun time, it was only after following someone's advice on Facebook that I found my chip time as it wasn't obvious where to find it. Shame, as it let down and otherwise well put together and enjoyable event. I'd certainly consider running it again in the future.
