2nd Race for Mrs S & I, start at Green Park and finish in front of Buckingham Palace.

A proper road race, OMG this event is huge (for a novice).

as soon as you come out of Green Park Station into Green Park you are in the “village”. Lots a bits and pieces about, but also lots of people. Lots of toilets about but also lots of queues for them.

There were multiple start times, bag drop off times etc.  The bag drop area was heavily congested as people were turning up late for there times or tried to go in early, the stewards done what they could but were shouting at the crowds, if only they had a megaphone.

The excitement of starting on the Mall with Buckingham Palace behind you was very intense. The start went well each wave had clear communication.  Personally as a Londoner, running in my home town on streets I know very well was brilliant, this looking at St Paul’s, the Strand and so many other landmarks. 

Crowds were all around the event, some quite areas but generally good support. 

The finish line is in front of the Palace, and well controlled enough space to walk off and then your back in Green Park to meet family and home.

As a new runner this was an amazing event.
