← Vitality London 10,000

This was the second year I did this, with a parkrun entry for £15 - a bargain for a central London closed roads race.

Organisation at the start is fairly good, though there were long queues for toilets (like everywhere).  I didn't use the baggage drop.

There were different waves, I was in the orange wave but there seemed to be people with different coloured numbers on in my wave.  However, it was easy to get to the start and everything ran smoothly, starting on time.

There's a really good atmosphere around the Trafalgar Square/Strand parts of the race with big crowds.  There's less as you get to the city, but still quite a few bands dotted around.  It didn't feel overcrowded.

It's a pretty good route through central London, with a finish just outside Buckingham Palace.

They'd run out of medium shirts by the time I got to the finish, but otherwise it seemed well organised.  We did however hear afterwards that they'd run out of medals and shirts - don't know how this could happen.

All in all, it's a good central London event, the organisers will need to ensure it stays that way.
