Run by the same organisers as the London marathon, the London 10,000 is always going to be a well run and organised event. Not the cheapest of races, but you do get a great route around some of London's famous landmarks with a start and finish outside Buckingham Palace on The Mall, amazing crowd support along the whole route and a decent medal and goody bag for your efforts.
With the start area located in Green Park it's very easy to get to by public transport and includes various food and drink outlets as well as entertainment to enjoy after the event.
If you're in the first wave, I'd recommend trying to get as close to the front of the wave as you can as it can be very busy for the first mile and you end up dodging other runners and trying not to get and be tripped up until it spreads out.
Overall a great race that always attracts some top runners, including Mo Farah and Jonnie Brownlee!
