← Vitality London 10,000

This was the fourth time I’ve run this race and it will probably be the last.

Pros
  • Admittedly it’s amazing to run  through central London on closed roads
  • The medal is always good
  • For once - a miracle! - the T-shirts were not unisex but we’re women’s fit. Hurrah!
However....
Cons
  • Bag drop was a shambles with a huge queue
  • The start pens were non existent with everyone just milling about and everyone mixed up
  • The course is way way too crowded. For a 10k there are far too many people. For anyone even wanting to just run properly without weaving, it’s pretty impossible.
  • They had run out of ladies’ small T-shirts early on. If they simply printed your T-shirt size on your bib as other races do this wouldn’t happen
  • The awful wristband baggage tag! If smaller races can do baggage to match your bib number I don’t understand why the bigger races can’t.
  • Some of the marshals were incredibly rude at the end. I understand it was busy but there’s no need for rudeness.
So, while I’ve enjoyed this race in the past, it has become too big and with that, too disorganised, so I fear this year will probably be my last.
