← TCS London Marathon

It took me a while to write this review, as I wanted to do justice to this event and for a period right after I finished, I was in a bit of a flux.

To begin with: this is an incredible event, seeped in history, in an amazing city with fantastic support from the crowds, who stayed out all the way to the end - I should know as it took me more than 7 hours to complete.

The few issues I have with the event are related to my finish time, or rather how the slower runners were treated at the tail end of the race. In summary: there were aid stations that had been dismantled, the cleaning crews overtook us (according to teh organisers, ahead of time) and in general it felt like we weren;t really welcome to finish.

On the plus side, this didn't break me, but spurred me on, to overtake the cleaning crews and finish strong - but as the moto of the race this year was 'Everyone's Race' I would expect them to be more inclusive and catering to participants of all abilities.

Never the less - what an incredible event to take part in - especially for my first Marathon, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone - if you can get a place coinsider yourself lucky.

London Marathon - I have been hooke...see you agin sometime!
