Outstanding crowd, good organisation at the start and end, but the race could be improved. The water stations were quite poor. It was impossible to know when they would be, and there was no warning ahead of the stations. Quite frustrating for those taking energy gel that needs water..

What a dreadfully organised event. Why were all the tube stations closed at the finish?? Do they not realise how far we had run? Shame family cant watch me finish - or find me easily afterwards. Used to be a great event. Not anymore! All about the profit and not the competitor or spectator.

This year was quite hot but there were regular cold water sprinklers along the route. The water and Lucozade gel stations were enough for me but it could be quite dangerous with all the empty bottles on the ground. It was easy to get to the start from the station because everyone was going the same way and there were people directing, although the trains were extremely busy with supporters and runners so you may not get on the train at first. Travel there was free. The baggage drop was easy to find. You have to use their clear drawstring bag given to you with your bib number so I put my small ruckasck in the clear bag. It was efficient and quick collecting it at the finish. You will have to accept there will be very long queues for toilets at the start. The female 'urinals' had a slightly quicker queue. However, there are many toilets on the course. The route atmosphere is incredible and there are spectators all the way cheering everyone on, so it is very loud the whole way. It was worth paying for the photos as there were plenty of photography spots so you should find quite a few photos of yourself. The medal is such a great keepsake. I was happy there was an option to forgo the t-shirt with Trees not Tees so I took this option. The tracking app didn't seem to work well for supporters so I would recommend using an alternative like Google maps for tracking.

London Marathon is really a great race, there's something special about London. I do think that given the temperature there should have been additional water stops, however, the race is still amazing. Could benefit from more finish line goodies which are food items for post-marathon distance.

London marathon is quite simply one of, if not, the best. In spite of the large numbers, the organisation at the start is excellent and the support and marshaling out on the course outstanding. The only trouble is that with the number of runners doubling the expo has not got any bigger or longer, so that is quite a bear garden (even going early and in the first couple of days). It was so busy that I did not buy anything - maybe if this is common the stand holders will ask for longer hours and/or more space.

Honestly…a little disappointed! Perhaps it’s because you have expectations on the London Marathon being so amazing as depicted on the TV every year. Very straight forward start process, went straight into pen and off I went. Was in the start /wave area for no more than 10 minutes. Didn’t see the point in getting there earlier. Not enough toilets in the start area. Although I didn’t use them the toilets was huge. The course itself is very good, very varied through all different parts of London and it gets really good from mile 12 onwards. The first part of the course is a little underwhelming in comparison but makes up for it as the course goes on. Is mostly flat and net down hill. A few very minor inclines but they are very very minor. The water stations was crazy. No signs to say they was coming up then all of a sudden everyone dashes over to get a bottle and was not good for safety. They had shower spay onto the course in different areas as well as ice which was great to cool you down. What I didn’t like was the sheer volume of people, on and off the course. On the race itself the course was just far too congested. All the runners was getting in each others way and generally had no concept of what was happening around them so trying to keep a steady place was difficult. You will also end up running a much further distance due to the constant dodging and weaving of people. The organisers need to fix this, either have less entries or more waves with less people. Also the support which is incredible with the amount of people cheering you on however it is relentless from cutty sark onwards and for me just became too much noise the longer the race went on. Going into the couple of tunnels was a relief from the noise! Glad I’ve done it but not sure I’d enter again.

This race completely lives up to its reputation, simply awesome experience. Unbelievable support along the whole route, great fast course which takes in all the landmarks, with excellent water stations. My only criticisms would be not enough toilets at the Yellow start, I have never seen such large queues for the men’s urinals, I had to jump queue as my start wave was called. The other being I do not understand why numbers can’t be posted out, I had to take a separate trip to London to collect.
