← TCS London Marathon

What can I say, I’ve been lucky enough to run the London Marathon twice now and each time it hasn’t failed to disappoint.

This year I gained a ballot spot and started from the blue start.  The start area was had plenty of toilets, a changing tent, hot drinks and the big screen so you could see and hear what was going on.  The only down side at the start was the waiting around to get in the pens and also shuffle along to get across the line.

Once I got going as always the course was well supported with cheering and music for most of the way.

Merge at 3 miles seemed seamless and not so busy you couldn’t move.  The pace team were great and it was good to see that they extended to times for those further back.

The aid stations were frequent and well stocked and a mix of water, gels, beans and Lucozade.

The supporters as always were giving out sweets, drinks and ice poles along with shouts of encouragement.

Whilst my plan went wrong with cramp near the end people didn’t stop shouting and trying to get me moving which was of get help.

As the end I want walking the best s d had been offered helped should I have wanted it by the St Johns staff.

Baggage collection was fast and easy and after a little walk there was a large changing tent.

A well stick goodie bag had been collected along with that finishers T-shirt that you get to show off.

I’m off for some rest but I’ve already signed of into the ballot for next year
