· 2019 Half Marathon ·

The second London Landmarks Half and it's now a ballot or charity event, so if you're lucky enough to get in, then the registration is pretty straight forward.

It felt a bit more organised than last year but the start is still chaotic and although there were marshalls trying to ensure the correct wave went into the start pens, it was still a mixture in the pens. It's a crowded route, it's a lot of turns and whilst it's not hilly, it's deceptively many ups and downs. The route takes in a lot of the central London sights but it isn't very well fenced off so there's a lot of pedestrians and spectators nipping across or crowding the route, which at times got a bit dangerous. It's a themed event with quite a few random points of interest, and a lot of musical entertainment, much of it very good. Plenty of charity cheer points and spectator support for most of the race.

The walk back to bag drop from the finish line is quite long and it's in March so quite cold. Goody bag was okay, the medal is themed. The t-shirt is sent out with the race pack, unisex and not very nice. Very expensive for what it is, one of those races that once you've done it, you probably don't feel the need to do it again.
