The first year for this event, and I think it has some real potential to be an amazing race. The route itself was much more challenging than i realised, and is morw undulating than i anticipated. The route in spots had large puddles and was very muddy which cannot be helped. We had a lot of rain the night before which made navigating muddy sections tricky. That being said, the amount of times we came to complete standstills because people were too afraid to run through a bit f water was ridiculous. The section near the end where it was a two way system was fairly tricky. It was very muddy and some runners seemed to feel they owned the rights to the entire path and did not view it as a shared space. This was my most disliked part of the route because I am in general not a fan of that section on a good day, but found it difficult to wrap my head around it. I think more sineage in the parking lot would be helpful. The route was .2 miles short according to my watch and considering how much we dodged around i was a bit surprised. Some of the paths had a lot of pot holes and some signs warning of these would help with safety. A few more marshalls enroute would be good two especially on two way sections to ensure runner safety would be good. What did i love about this race... the views. Running in the countryside was amazing and i absolutely loved exploring parts of Nottinghamshire I had never seen before. While the wind was brutal at points, the scenery really made up for it. One of the real highlights was the support enroute, including the family with the adorable puppies and the family handing out water as we ran through the farm road. They were absolutely brilliant! I really would be up for more races like this that take you out into the countryside. I think there is a real market for it in the area and I’m not aware of many other races like it in Nottinghamshire. The race and medal were of good quality (especially the top). I think the race was really good value for money and I would recommend it to anybody. It is a tricky route but it is beautiful in the countryside. Overall I really enjoyed the day, and I am really hope these organisers take on more races. I think they have real potential.
