← Elsecar Running Festival

This years was a slight change from last year, with each loop being 6.7 miles. There was the option to run 1, 2, 3, or 4 loops, so basically a 10k, half marathon, 20 miler or full marathon!! (I opted for 1 loop...) The race started and finished at Elsecar Heritage Centre which makes for a nice walk around after you have raced. The route goes out and along a heritage trail, next an old canal and steam railway line. It then goes through a park and around a lake before heading back to the finish line. As with It's Grim Up North Running events, there was chocolate, beer and a great medal at the finish - as well as plenty of homemade cakes. Great friendly event and well worth looking at for 2019.
