At the very last minute I booked a place on the 20 mile race. I was so excited to see a real life was happening. I was not disappointed by the Grim Up North Experience. I felt safe and every detail was covered in order to limit contact with others. Registration was effortless and the race brief was spot on. I loved the route along the canal, it was flat until the locks, and extremely pretty. It felt like being back at home!

The medal and goody bag never fails to excite me. My whole day was made better by a 28 minute PB on the 20 mile race.

Thank you to the whole team for all you did to organise this 5 star event. Love you all ❤

The event is well described on the organisers' web site. Race entry is simple. The course is well described and expected conditions are posted on the Grim Up North Chat Facebook site close to event day.. Full instructions are emailed to all entrants prior to the race, including current Covid requirements and safety. The organisers and all the helpers are fully briefed and know exactly what is expected of them. Everything runs smoothly. Excellent all round. Don't miss their next race which is on the itsgrimupnorth website. Everything is currently Covid rules permitting, so permission to actually field the event will depend on the current area legislation. If you book and a race has to be cancelled you are able to transfer to the next race.

This was the first time I'd run Elsecar trail marathon. This Christmas themed race had a variety of distance options. I ran the marathon.
Route consisted of 4x 6.7mile laps, which can be mentally tough if you allow it. On this particular day it was quite wet & muddy but overall the paths were decent and the trail was not technical at all.
It was very well organised and theres always a friendly atmosphere at their events.
Marshals were awesome as always.
Finishers received a lovely medal and there was the usual home baked cake, beer & chocolate and even a BBQ.
I can't speak highly enough about IGUN events. They're just great. I'll certainly be back at this event in 2020.
This event also has a 2nd day with lower distance options.
