← Dirt Half Challenge

I've done this race several times before and being a local race it would be rude not to! The race usually sells out so it's wise to enter early. For those that haven't done the race before it would be worth checking out the course profile and route info before as you'll be left easily thinking it's an easy run for the first half that is flat along the canal towpath...before you come to the big hill! This is where the race gets interesting as you climb the long off-road farmer's track up to Brickhill before heading into the woods and then zigzagging through the trees, trying not to slip on the leaves or trip over the many tree roots! The course is well marked though and many of the tree roots are sprayed to stand out. Marshals are in all the places where the course crosses roads or has multiple way points. The whole organisation of the race is top notch and always goes smoothly. Don't forget to take some pennies with you for a hot drink and cake in the hall afterwards!
