← Hubble Bubble - Leeds Liverpool Canal - Halloween

Hubble Bubble was another cracking event, brought to you by the good people at It's Grim Up North. The day featured all distances from 5k to Ultra, so catered for everybody. I ran the marathon. Pre-race information was excellent as always. HQ was a leisurely 5-10 minute walk from start line. Race numbers were collection only. There were a couple of technical issues which slightly delayed proceedings, but it was soon sorted. Race was chip timed and had staggered start time, depending on distance. All races took part on canal. Course was flat apart from odd little bump. Paths were excellent which gives this course plenty of PB opportunities. Marathon was a 10mile out back, followed by a 3.1 mile out and back. Marshals were awesome. Feed stations were regular and had cupped water, cola and sweets, crisps and Jaffa cakes ect. Finishers received a quality medal, bottle of beer and chocolates. There was also lots of Halloween themed, home baked cakes to enjoy. With additional trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places in all distances for both men & women, there's a good chance of picking up an extra trophy, In summary - I love IGUN events. They're always fun, friendly and good value. This race offers a great chance of a PB. Canal paths mean not much support but on the plus side there was lots of support from fellow runners and friendly marshals. Thanks IGUN for a brilliant event.
