It was a little bit disappointing to discover that the 10 mile race wasn't being chipped timed when all other distances were. It would also be nice to have the option of that distance on both days of the weekend. The goodies table was not quite as good as previous events done with grim previously, almost felt like we just had the leftovers from day 1. Marshalls amazing as always.

My first time taking part in a Grim race, there were fewer people taking part than I thought there would be but apart from that it was better then expected! Great selection of treats at the end with special efforts to make sure there was vegan options available too. I appreciate the efforts not to produce too much waste, there were jugs to fill water bottles which was easy enough. Will be signing up again soon!

There seemed lack of Marshall’s along the route to aid motivation, everyone was staggered around which meant I was running in my own for long sections, I had to avoid bikes, almost tripped over a loose dog and dodge other people taking a stroll. The marshal merely flicked up a sign saying turn around and didn’t speak. The start was just a gathering of people set off at various times and everything just seemed to lack a bit of umpf. The medal and finish was nice, though a date / distance the medal lanyard would have been great if I was to be picky.

Hi Ella, Unfortunately all our are marshals, which at times can provide a challenge at times to cover basic tasks. In regards to having to avoid people on the canal, I think that is a little harsh that you have penalised us for that as the canal is a public right of way :-)

This is the second time I have completed the ten mile race. Both times it seemed like a long ten miles ! Largely due to no particular landmarks and I found it boring ! It cost the going rate for such a distance I guess but I thought it pricey to only come away with a medal and a lollipop. Also hand written signs difficult to see and even more difficult when not wearing my specs whilst running! Do for me disappointing.
