I watched this race on a beautiful autumn day... then ran it in the rain!! The race village is in Hyde Park, really easy to get to. Loads of toilets, massive baggage drop, lots of volunteers, marshals and entertainment. The race starts in waves, which is fine, but meant we were waiting to start for what seemed like ages. In fact I crossed the start at 9.18. So if you're in one of the pens further back, you've probably got extra time to get sorted, so don't panic in the toilet queue! Its a great route, past some good landmarks and and back into the parks. Very well sign posted all the way, including signs when the road narrows, when there's a bump a slight incline. There are a couple of slight ups and downs, but hardly anything - I think its the first time I've felt like a race really is flat. Wooden medal at the end (this is why I ran!!), and a canvas bag to fill with freebies. Water and bananas as soon as you finish, and results by text pretty much as soon as you cross the line. There's a tracking app which my children and family absolutely loved, and its free, so make sure all your supporters get it. Massive shout out to the incredible marshals - they all had megaphones and they used them well, their support was amazing, especially as the weather was awful which probably put off some spectators. All in all, its a great race, highly recommended.
