This is an absolutely huge event! The course is lovely and the number of charity runners and supporters quite overwhelming! It is a nice route - flat and with some great London landmarks to enjoy! The number of people makes everything incredibly congested and people crossing the course in front of runners etc. The marshaling is pretty weak (although there are road closures in the most dangerous bits, so it is people, kids on scooters etc) But the event village is really badly organised. The way that it is laid out means that all of the queues cut across the way that people need to walk through the village, so people are constantly blocked and there is no flow. And the signage is really poor (eg we queued for ages for bag drop and then found that the signs were in the wrong place and we were in the wrong queue for that number zone - even though the signs had said it was these numbers).

A great season-closer. A fast, flat half marathon where I stumbled on a PB despite not really having trained. It is great for the fast feet and first-timers alike. Great on-course support, loads of charity stands in the village and on-course, bands, DJs and even a (slightly pointless) bunting section. The course picks up some true London highlights, although the second half feels a little like you're just making up distance in Hyde Park (but the clue is in the title I guess). I don't know how but somehow they manage to have perfect weather every year! Nice to have a t-shirt opt-out: Trees not T's. Good event village. A big recommendation would be for the publication of a gpx version of the route for people to be able to see/practice the route and plan spectators better. The sketch map on the website is a bit crude.

This was my second time doing the Royal Parks half marathon. After a disappointing performance in 2018, I had targetted this as a potential PB race, but it wasn't much better. The organisation was great, and everything was clear on the day.

I was lucky enough to be selected to attend this race as one of the 2 hour pacing team. London just has something about it that makes the event extra special; from starting near Buckingham Palace, running along The Mall to running through some of London鈥檚 parks. Although the start/finish were in different locations, both the start and finish village were sized well with enough vendors to accommodate the amount of people there. The goody bags were good as was the race t shirt. The medal was made of wood as part of the organisers aim to reduce waste. It鈥檚 a great race, in a great location, with great support and I would run this again given the chance.

This was a really lovely half marathon. It was well organised, with lots of useful email correspondence in advance.

The start waves were clear to find, and the organisers ensured that there was adequate time to warm up.

In terms of the route, there were so many landmarks to see along the way. You got to see a lot of them more than once, as the route often looped back.

I would say that although it was generally flat, this course is probably not a 'PB course', simply because there is so much to see. I found that even if I had wanted to push for a PB, I would have struggled, as a lot of people were stopping en route to take pictures.

One aspect that could have been made a little clearer was the way out of the Event village. It took time to find the right way to the local train stations, whereas the route from the station to the start was somewhat easier to find.

Overall, this was a great event, and one I would highly recommend. The organisers ensured that the event was as environmentally friendly as possible, and the support from both them and the locals was excellent!

Virtual after getting in the ballot for 2020 really impressed with environmentally friendly approach with finish line given with wild flowers in! Great app that works seamlessly with Garmin!

Great route through heart of London. Excellent support all the way, entering into Hyde Park is the biggest buzz with all the crowds willing you on.

This is my third time completing the Royal Parks half and I think it may be my favourite time. Sadly, for the organisers, the weather was not kind in the days leading up to the event result in a festival mud event area. Though this wasn't too bad as long as you watched where you were going but did mean I didn't spend any time in there after the race. The start was in Hyde park and they always like to tease you at the start by making you run past the medals as a nice reminder of what you will get 13 miles later. The crowds were fantastic including Extinction Rebellion and the police cheering us on throughout. For my wave the first water station seemed to run out of water and was restocking as we came through which was a shame as we couldn't try the water pouch things we had been told about. However the remnants of them were on the road so you did have to be a bit careful where you ran through that small part. The volunteers were fantastic especially when it started to rain and the charity cheer sections are always so loud. I absolutely love this half marathon, the scenery is beautiful with the combination of London streets and the Royal Parks and getting to run past Buckingham Palace and Wellington Arch never gets old. It's a ballot so you can never be guaranteed entry but it is well worth putting your name in the hat for a place as it is a race you won't regret.
