My first half marathon, I was happy that the route was as described but like others found the placement of the water stations baffling. Nearly halfway through and then the final one around two miles from the finish. A pretty hot day and I was pretty parched by the time I got to the second. I'd actually began to think I'd been misinformed that there was a second at all! The direction signage was fine but I was surprised to see there weren't signs at the split for the 5K, 10K and half marathon distances, just a marshal shouting out the split (and different races didn't have different colour race numbers) - I wouldn't be surprised if a few people went the wrong way on the day. That was in fact one of only two marshals that I saw on the route (apart from the people at the water stations), so not sure how easy it would have been to get first aid if you needed it. My wife did the 10K and similar to other reports found it came up short. It was her first 10K so she decided to find me and run with me for the last half a mile of my run. Finish was also a touch underwhelming, I wasn't expecting a ticker tape parade by any stretch but there wasn't even a finish line banner, just the timing mat to signify you were at the end. Other miscellaneous points: super easy to get to from the M4, so that was a bonus. Parking was quite steep although outside the organiser's control I guess. But factor in £9 to £12 on top of the relatively high race entry fee. Food at the end was welcome but limited choice (beef burger or halloumi burger) - I know these things are always subject to change but the pre-race blurb made it sound like there would be more choice. Toilets were a couple hundred metres from the registration/start but on the plus side as they were for nearby the coach park they were a decent standard and not a dodgy portaloo. The chip timing system worked well and got my result text to me within a minute of finishing. The beer at the end is a nice hook and I enjoyed mine later that night.
