← Hever Castle - Triathlon Series
Considering the weather conditions, the triathlon was fantastic. The rain and wind did kill the mood (of the competitors, marshalls and supporters), but the set up (live band, organsiation and safety precautions) made the day really special. The setting is hard to match - the lake, the castle etc. Would have liked some kind of goodie bag (even just flyers and the odd snack), competitors love that sort of thing! The general consensus was that the run and cycle was incredibly tough and especially hilly. These hills could maybe have been highlighted a bit more in the booking process. I did feel that there were maybe too many events crammed into two days - but the time our team set off in the run (in the last wave of Olympic distance triathletes) the ground was incredibly chewed up and affected performace.
