The registration process was straight forward with plenty of emails on the build-up to the event.

I had my race pack posted but the queue to collect race packs on the day never seemed to become very large.

The event village is well organised with plenty of facilities for a small (approx. 2000 runners) sized event and large stage for the warm up and live music.

At the start the runners decide which wave to start in based on assumed finishing time, 5 different waves to choose from with wave leaving approx. every 5 minutes to avoid unnecessary congestion.

The route was mixed terrain, gravel, grass and tarmac taking in much of Priory Park, down one side of the river to the Town then up the embankment back to Priory Park to finish.

The course is narrow in places, going over bridges etc, with several sharp turns but a very enjoyable route.

There was a water station on route at just over half distance, I think this was added last minute due to the temperature on the day and this was very welcome.

Support around Priory Park was fantastic and limited elsewhere but the marshals were all very encouraging.

After the finish you can relax on the straw bales with a fresh baked pizza or toasted cheese sandwich from the event village and a beer to reward your efforts and watch the sun set over the lake.

The finishers medal is great as is the Technical T-Shirt.

This is great event and being at Twilight hours is more relaxed for a running family without having to worry about an early morning alarm call.
