← Shrewsbury Half Marathon

Being run by UKRunChat this event is superbly organised and meets all the requirements runners could ask for.

Plenty of space at the Showground venue for parking, changing and toilets

Varied and at times challenging route takes you from the Showground, along the bank of the River Severn with a few twists and turns around the edge of town before hitting the notorious STEEP hill of Wyle Cop! The route then heads through pleasant residential areas before a long and steady hill takes you north out of town. Around the 9 mile mark the course takes a sharp left and takes you through rolling countryside and mostly downhill, the final mile is through a meadow along a dusty stony track with a nice finish back in the showground

Water stations in just the right spots with gels at the 9 mile mark

Good quality tech shirt and chunky medal

A major plus is the provision of free (and plentiful) photos which makes the £28 entry fee even more of a bargain

An event organised by runners for runners!

My only gripe....could the photo providers use another platform as well as facebook to distribute the pics? I don't use facebook :-(
