Signing up to the race was very quick and simple online, they kept me up to date with regular emails to let me know start times, meet up points and other relevant race information.

The race started on a very narrow stretch of pathway in a lovely little park. The first 1-2km was incredibly crowded and it was difficult to get a decent pace going as there was a lot of runners and the path is just too narrow.

Quite a large part of the race is run on open roads outside the park, the marshalls were brilliant and providing motivation, directions and also working as traffic coordinators too. Although there were vehicles, it always felt safe. Just a shame that quite a few people had parked their vehicles on the pathways and we had to manoeuvre around them or drop onto the road.

The route is very flat with only a couple of very slight inclines, it is part park pathways, part grass, part roads and part gravel so a nice variation.

There was lots of support from the local community and plenty of kids shouting support from the play areas.

The race is about 2.5 laps and there was one water station, as you pass it a couple of times that's all that was needed.

Overall, it was a great race organised by an amateur running club, the route was nice and flat and I got my first ever sub 60 personal best so I'm happy!

I will be running again next year!
