Collecting the race number before the race was nice and straight forward. A lot of runners gathered around the rangers hut before the race which gave myself, a 1st time runner of the event, a chance to have a chat to a few local runners.

As mentioned in other reviews, the majority of the run inside the park is on narrow paths, and due to the number of participants, the start area was quite crowded but once the race got going, I didnt find overcrowdedness to be a problem once we set off, and found there was plenty of areas to overtake if there was any issues.

The course was nice and flat as a majority, and I particually liked the mixture of terrains included in the race. I loved the setting of the park, it made for a very enjoyable run.

The race goes out of the park and onto streets for a part of each lap. Marshalls were on hand to control traffic, and I thought that whole section was managed brilliantly. A great turn out from locals both inside and outside of the park for support and the encouragement from the marshalls along the route was a great help too.

It was overall a great event overall, one I'd highly recommend to others and I'm looking forward to running it again next year.

Signing up to the race was very quick and simple online, they kept me up to date with regular emails to let me know start times, meet up points and other relevant race information.

The race started on a very narrow stretch of pathway in a lovely little park. The first 1-2km was incredibly crowded and it was difficult to get a decent pace going as there was a lot of runners and the path is just too narrow.

Quite a large part of the race is run on open roads outside the park, the marshalls were brilliant and providing motivation, directions and also working as traffic coordinators too. Although there were vehicles, it always felt safe. Just a shame that quite a few people had parked their vehicles on the pathways and we had to manoeuvre around them or drop onto the road.

The route is very flat with only a couple of very slight inclines, it is part park pathways, part grass, part roads and part gravel so a nice variation.

There was lots of support from the local community and plenty of kids shouting support from the play areas.

The race is about 2.5 laps and there was one water station, as you pass it a couple of times that's all that was needed.

Overall, it was a great race organised by an amateur running club, the route was nice and flat and I got my first ever sub 60 personal best so I'm happy!

I will be running again next year!

As a relative newby to midweek racing, this race was a joy. Car parking was quite straight forward if not on site, race HQ was friendly, the run was easy for my friend to see me at a couple of different points and the locals seemed quite on board with cheering. It's flat, and for the most part through a pleasant park. Well marshalled. Walked away with a seasons best.

Plan was not to run this event but my mate offered me a lift from Leeds to Warrington so I thought, why not?

Number collection/registration was straight forward enough.

This was a club run 10k hosted by Warrington Road runners.

There was a nice pre-race atmosphere with most runners wearing their club colours. I followed suit & wore vest of my local running club, South Leeds Lakers.

Course was a 2 lap route, mainly on paths although there was a grass/trail section. Heavy rain had meant there was a bit of mud but it wasn't too bad.

The route was fast & flat overall although it did get congested at times due to the narrow paths, which slowed down faster runners.

Marshal support was 1st class. There was also a bit of support from locals which was nice.

Finishers were rewarded with a medal, water & a muesli bar.

There was also a massage option.

Quite enjoyed this event. Having it on a Friday is nice as it frees up your weekend to do others things.

Being from West Yorkshire means this race isn't ideally located for me but if I was in the area then I would do it again.

Thanks Warrington Road Runners for a good event.

Nice route during midweek but narrow paths and slippery trails made it difficult to keep pace. Start was very narrow so took a while to spread field out and get into good rhythm. Evening race also meant we had to run along parents rather than closed roads. Water station was tucked away and I was past it before I realised at 5km. I would do this race again just a few small tweaks needed.
