← Mersey Tunnel 10K

I hadn't done this race before but I had heard good things from many different people so I signed up and my husband did too!

Registration was easy, bibs and infor posted out in plenty of time etc.

Easy to get to by bus and we got there really early and it was quite chilly but he organisers were very happy for people to loiter on the baggage buses to stay warm! (double decker buses) There were plenty of toilets so there wasn't much queueing.

Once the race got underway it was only a short run to get to the tunnel approach, then it was downhill for a blissful mile (almost)! Unfortunately, what goes down must go up (?!) so there was quite a climb back out of the tunnel! The atmosphere in here was amazing - people singing / shouting Oggy Oggy Oggy Oi Oi Oi!!

Once out of the tunnel it was on to the flat Prom all the way to New Brighton. Marshalls were friendly and helpful and there were 2 water stations on the Prom.

At the finish we were presented with a great medal and technical t-shirt and some lovely Graze snacks!

The photos were free to download which is a bonus!

My husband and I will both be doing this again next year!
