Being my home town race, this is an event I want to do well.

Signing up was easy enough and logistics of parking and getting to the start were fine. I decided to walk to the start but there were buses available.

Toilet queues were a bit long so they could do with a few more toilets.

The only other constructive criticism I could give is that the start is a bit messy (similar to 2017). It's not a penned start and although there were pacers, it was hard to find anything below 50 minutes. Clearer sections would be better.

The race itself was great at the hill at just before 9km doesn't get easier each year!

The local support was amazing with loads of people giving out sweets and showering runners with their hose pipes. Nice in the boiling hot weather!

The finish was good as it's a nice open stretch. The goody bag is great, as it's simple with no rubbish in it. A pack of 12 yogurts, a pork pie and a medal.

Already signed up to next year as this is one of my favourite events. A couple of minor tweaks and the race would go up to an even higher level.
